PACKING PLYWOOD - EP.1 - CORE VENEER SELECTION

In the plywood production process, the selection of input materials plays an extremely important role. Not only high quality plywood used for construction and furniture, but also packing plywood used for packaging purposes of TTP is also carefully purchased and classified.

Core materials used in the production of packing plywood are mainly acacia, styrax, eucalyptus.... which are plantation forest with the age about 8-12 years old.

Wood layers after peeling from logs have dimensions of 640x1270x1.7mm or 2mm or 500x1270x1.5mm. Then, workers will sort out grades A, B, and C:

Grade A: full 4 edges, 4 corners, few short tears < 6cm, No holes, Flat- Highest strength

Grade B: full 4 sides, Crack length < 10cm, With 2-3 holes, Hole size < 6cm long, medium strength

Type C: Full 3 edges, Many cracks, Have 3-5 holes, Hole size <10cm, weakness strength

Veneer that do not meet the standards put into production will be rejected with packing plywood, the two facing layers usually use type A grade veneer, the inner layers will combine B and C grade veneer. B and C veneers will be patched thoroughly to ensure the structure of the finished plywood.
