Materials and Construction
AB packing plywood is manufactured from multiple layers of Acacia and Styrax core veneers bonded with Urea Formaldehyde (UF) adhesive and consolidated through hot pressing.
The panel features a thin Bintangor or Okoume face veneer and a Styrax back veneer. This combination produces the characteristic red face and white back that distinguish this product from white-faced BC packing plywood.
Surface Appearance
The red face makes AB packing plywood a practical choice for visible box panels, lids and other outward-facing packaging components.
The panels are supplied unsanded, so natural veneer texture and some surface unevenness may remain. Surface requirements and acceptable defects should be agreed before ordering.
Selecting the Right Specification
Packaging performance depends on more than the AB grade designation. Panel thickness, core construction, adhesive bonding and the finished packaging design all need to suit the intended application.
For panels that will be cut, drilled or assembled, buyers should specify dimensional tolerances and acceptable core gaps. Load-bearing applications require a suitable packaging design and verification under the expected handling conditions.
