General Information

Rice pattern anti-slip plywood is a film faced plywood panel with an embossed rice-grain surface designed to improve grip. It combines a textured film overlay with a cross-laminated veneer core for flooring and other applications where surface traction matters.

TT Plywood manufactures rice pattern anti-slip plywood in Vietnam, with specifications selected according to the customer’s application, working conditions and budget.

Materials and Panel Construction

Rice Pattern Film Surface

The working face features an embossed rice-grain texture that creates a patterned contact surface. The film overlay helps limit moisture penetration through the panel face, while the texture is designed to provide better grip than a smooth film surface.

Actual slip resistance depends on the surface condition, footwear or contacting material, moisture and contamination. Any required slip-resistance rating should be supported by testing under the specified method.

Core Veneers

The panel consists of multiple veneer layers arranged with alternating grain directions and bonded under pressure. Core species, veneer quality and lay-up influence panel weight, stiffness and machining performance.

Consistent core construction is particularly relevant around panel joints, fixing points and areas subjected to concentrated loads or repeated traffic.

Adhesive Bonding

The adhesive system holds the veneer layers together during use. Bonding requirements should reflect the expected moisture exposure, cleaning conditions and service environment.

Adhesive type, bond performance and formaldehyde emissions are separate specification items and should be assessed against the applicable requirements.

Edge Protection

Panel edges, fixing holes and newly cut openings are potential entry points for moisture. Edge sealing helps reduce water uptake through these exposed areas.

Cut edges and drilled holes should be resealed before installation. The film overlay does not make the complete panel permanently waterproof.

Performance in Flooring and Transport Applications

Surface Grip

The rice pattern provides a textured working surface for applications where additional traction is required. Keeping the surface free from oil, mud and accumulated debris helps maintain contact with the pattern.

The suitability of the surface should be assessed under the expected operating conditions, particularly where water or other contaminants may be present.

Panel Selection

Thickness and core construction should be selected according to support spacing, load distribution, fixing arrangements and permitted deflection.

For vehicle floors, platforms and access panels, concentrated loads and any wheeled traffic should also be considered. Thickness alone does not establish a panel’s load-bearing capacity.

Surface Wear and Service Life

Service life depends on film specification, traffic intensity, abrasion, impact and maintenance. Repeated movement over the same area can gradually wear down the embossed texture.

Panels should be inspected for surface wear, edge damage and delamination. Replacement requirements should reflect the condition of the panel and its intended function.

Applications of Rice Pattern Anti-Slip Plywood

Subject to the selected panel specification and application requirements, rice pattern anti-slip plywood can be considered for:

  • Vehicle and trailer flooring: Floor panels selected for the relevant loading and support arrangement.
  • Industrial platforms: Working surfaces where a textured panel is required.
  • Access walkways: Panels incorporated into suitably designed pedestrian access systems.
  • Loading ramps: Contact surfaces assessed for the operating slope, traffic and environmental conditions.
  • Equipment and transport cases: Bases and panels where a textured finish is preferred.

Each application requires assessment of the complete assembly, including supports, connections and any relevant performance testing.
